Your Diet Affects Your Skin

For years we were told that eating greasy foods gave us greasy skin. While I don’t think anyone believes that anymore, what you eat can affect your skin.

So try to add in some of these foods and see how your skin likes it.

And remember to drink a lot of water to flush out the toxins.

Leafy Greens

Leafy greens like spinach, chard, and lettuce are full of fiber and beta-carotene. Your body converts the beta-carotene into vitamin A which we know helps smooth the skin and balance sebum

Try adding in different ones to see if you can find a new favorite.

Oleic acid reduces inflammations that can give your skin flare ups. Plus, avocados have antioxidants to combat your skin from aging.

Beets are wonderful for supporting liver health. And you can steam or sautee the greens which also provide beta-carotene and fiber.

If you don’t like the taste of beets, consider juicing them as they blend well with orange juice and carrot juice.

Spearmint Tea

Not only are you getting fluids to help flush your body, but spearmint has a calming effect on inflamed skin.

Plus spearmint has antibacterial properties to help reduce your acne.

Warm Lemon Water

Fresh lemon juice in some warm water is a great way to wake up. It helps reduce the congestion in your lungs and stomach, and the vitamin C in the lemon juice aids the liver in detoxifying your body.

That lets your skin just shine instead of having to help.

Fermented Foods

Do you like pickles or sauerkraut? Miso and kombucha?

What they all have in common is probiotics. The gut bacteria helps soothe your skin
